Description

These ytterbium, thulium doped (Yb³⁺,Tm³⁺ doped) NaYF₄ upconverting nanoparticles (UCNPs) are designed for the generation of blue and ultraviolet light. The energy transfer between the Yb³⁺ sensitizer and Tm³⁺ activator is optimized through careful control of the dopant ratios. Each particle consists of a high-quality crystalline fluoride host that provides a low-phonon energy environment for the thulium emissions.
