AZD-9291, soluble in warmed DMSO and warmed ethanol and insoluble in water, is a compound that blocks the activity of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2), both of which are involved in driving the growth and proliferation of certain types of cancer cells. It targets Exon 19 deletion EGFR (LoVo cells), L858R/T790M EGFR (LoVo cells), and WT EGFR (LoVo cells).
AZD-9291 can be used to study its effects as a third-generation irreversible EGFR inhibitor targeting EGFR mutations in lung cancer.
